At Alopecia UK we’re very lucky to have fundraisers of all ages. Elsie Spear is one of our youngest fundraisers. Mum Jess tells us a bit more about her fundraising efforts.
“Elsie is 5 years old and has very long, blonde, thick wavy hair right down to her bottom. She has wanted to get it chopped off for some time now. I explained to Elsie about a charity who accept hair donations and then make wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment.
Elsie decided she would love to donate her hair to help other children without any. We also agreed that we’d like to raise some funds and awareness for Alopecia UK too as I have alopecia myself.
Elsie has raised over £600 for Alopecia UK and will be donating over 12 inches of hair to the Little Princess Trust when she has her hair cut on 28th July. This means two charities will benefit from her efforts.
Alopecia UK has been a great source of support for me, in particular the Facebook group. It’s great to be able to give back and I’m so proud of Elsie for what she is doing."
Thank you Elsie for your fundraising efforts (and mum Jess for supporting!) We’re so lucky that we’re in touch with such kind and caring children. If you’d like to donate a little extra to Elsie’s Justgiving page, you can leave a donation and message of support here. We’re sure Elsie would love to read your messages.
